Endor patrol by Jonboy2312 Endor patrol by Jonboy2312
It's a drawing I started sketching last thursday while I was away in Poznan for 4 days, stuck in a dorm room in the evening with nothing to do after work. Oh speaking of the work... we, the 501st Imperial Stormtrooper Legion, had to wander around that cinema (Kinepolis, the largest in Europe!) in movie-quality SW costumes just one hour a day, except for the premiere night when we had to work much longer. It was great fun, though. I got to watch Revenge Of The Sith 4 times in a row, and I was PAID for the whole thing ^^'
Great fun indeed, wonderful friends, and an awesome experience ^^ Here's a gallery if anyone's interested: [link];page

Amazing! You should draw more of this female officer, because it is very well done, and this is very rare to see! More! :D

I would love to see Star Wars anime, especially something besides the Clone Wars. I'm so tired of clone wars or stuff right after it. I would rather watch stuff during or after the Galactic Civil war. Take the old stories people like more often and give them up to date graphics or an anime. That way we could animate Luke cutting through swaths of storm troopers.

The Clone Wars were a fascinating period to cover, too. It was this mythical war that brought the end of the Jedi, the end of the Republic and gave rise to the Empire... fans wanted to know more about it ever since it was first mentioned by Obi Wan back in 1977. I'm glad they gave this period so much attention in the end...

Yep, because that's what I had handy for reference at the time, instead of the MG-34 it should have been :)

Heh heh, re-watch episode 4 and check out the gun Luke carried when he was pretending to be a stormtrooper escorting Chewie into the prison block on the Deathstar ;)

DLT-19 heavy blaster, that's what it is... And besides, almost all the weapon props we see in the movies are modified real-world guns. The common E-11 stormtrooper blaster that they usually carry is just a british Sterling submachinegun with cooling fins and a scope added. Han's blaster pistol is a WW2 Mauser handgun... and so on.

no i know that, the trooper was carrying an unmodified MG-34, and the E-11's are made from Sterling SMG's. the heavy Sandtrooper rifles are made from Lewis Guns. i am just wondering why he is not carrying one of those.

Because MG-24 and MG-42 were also used in the movie... Lewis guns too, but that's a different thing. many sandtroopers had 32's and I'm sure I saw a 42 there somewhere. I just prefer DLT-19s over... whatever the Lewis-based blaster was called.

Besides, since the MG-42 is an improved version of the 34, we can just call it DLT-19A1 (with the 34 beaing a "DLT-19")

well, that makes sense.

personally, I'd love to see a blaster based on the Tommy Gun. perhaps a smugglers blaster?

AT-ST: Very nice... but what's that emblem on it?
Stormie: Electrobinocs aren't going to do you much good on Endor with the dense forest and such... But again, very nice.
Imperial Admiral: Love how you drew her uniform. And she's pretty.
Overall: Favorited with alacrity.

Thanks! ^_^ As for the emblem, it's one of the local detachments (the one I serve in) of the 501st Legion (the real-life one, see here: [link] )

Ah, the original 501st Legion: The Fan Club.

Or did I get that wrong? I'd always heard that the 501st Legion was used by Lucasfilm & Lucasarts as a huge nod to the biggest organized bunch of Star Wars fans ever...

Must be hard looking through the binoculars behind the mask :P Cute looking officer. no doubt Han Solo would be arrogant enough to fly strait to the heart of the empire to make out with her (If Leia can get rid of him first)

Nonsense.

What about Daala, what about Leonia Tavira, what about Isanne Ysard?

The 'no women in the Imperial military' idea comes from EU, which, as you can see, is very self-contradictory. No statement was made on this matter in any of the movies, and the expanded universe can not be taken seriously for the most part.

I call that thing DLT-19A1... Some stormtroopers in Episode 4 carried MG-34 (called DLT-19 in the SW universe), and since MG-42 is an update of the old MG-34, and some fan-troopers within the 501st Legion costuming group do carry those. I figured DLT-19-A1 would be a great name for this updated version :)

Very cool, you don't see too many female Imp officers (though maybe for good reasons - I can't imagine that particular uniform on her being very pleasant in the field...)

The MG-34/42-looking heavy blaster is cool too, if not appropriate. :)

501st Stormtrooper Legion, as in, the fan legion, right? Cool.
Reason #2 why I should try to make snowtrooper armor has been added to the list of....stuff.

Anyway, I like pretty much everything about this. The officer looks cute, the stormtrooper looks cool, and the sniper rifle looks like the real thing.

Thanks a lot! :] Well, I see a few flaws in the helmet now, and the "sniper rifle" is actually a "heavy blaster" - something of an equivalent of a chaingun in our times. In fact, the props used in the movies for these were German MG-34 and MG-42 chainguns of WW2 :)

Yeah, I remember reading that. Like, the Rebel's rifle props were made from M-16s, and Han Solo's blaster was made from a C96 "Broomhandle" Mauser.
I still say I know too much about Star Wars for my own good.
